After graduating from Central Michigan University in 1988 with two degrees and being the successful proprietor of a family-owned retail business in Birmingham, Michigan for 10 years, Kelly relocated to Southern California to adapt his business acumen and work ethic to the real estate industry.

For over 20 years Kelly has helped run The Renken Company as a Principal partner and Vice President of Real Estate Operations. As the Associate Broker for the Company, Kelly helps guide the majority of daily operations in acquiring, repositioning, managing, and maintaining the quality standards for all assets under the Company’s control. Kelly has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate ownership and administration, including syndication, legal formation, financing, due diligence, property management, brokerage, construction management, financial analysis, and IT integration to name a few. Currently, The Renken Company oversees over 2 million square feet of commercial, mixed-use, and multi-family real estate valued at over half a billion dollars.

While Kelly is an active player in the real estate industry as a service provider, consultant, and investor, his desire to open new doors has continued to shape his resume. Believing that all successful enterprises have small business roots, Kelly has been involved in the planning, implementation, financing, and development of non-real estate related companies as well. Interacting with skilled entrepreneurs in the service and manufacturing sectors has afforded Kelly the opportunity to expand his reach to a wide variety of business interests. As a partner and board member, Kelly is involved in guiding the future of these companies for the benefit of all involved.

No matter what the situation, it is Kelly’s opinion that a viable product or service can only be successful when a good plan is managed by the right people. Team building through strategic relationships is vital to any on-going business concern. Next in line is the ever-present need for liquidity.

On the personal side, Kelly is a father of four daughters and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Lisa, for over 30 years. As a jack-of-all trades, Kelly enjoys soccer, running, gardening, useless movie trivia, and the occasional poker game.
